Lavela’s is the story of a company that has known how to face and overcome challenges, continuously innovating and developing.
It’s the story of a family that has placed client satisfaction in pole position, without ever neglecting the welfare of collaborators and the importance of their “peace of mind” in the workplace where a large portion of time is spent.
Lavela was officially founded in 2011 but its roots go right back to the 1970s when Guido Margheritis started his journey into the world of paint. Initially specializing in powder coating, in the 90s Margheritis expanded the range of activities to include liquid paint. At this point, Margheritis started working for the medical field, his range also gaining traction with the overseas markets.
The 2000s marked a further expansion for the company with its entry into the beauty and food sectors, collaborating with important international brands.
It was in this period that there emerged the necessity to develop finishing processes and products in line with the demands of non-toxicity, frequent cleaning and safety, aspects by now essential for the food and electro-medical markets.
The entry of Piero, son of Margheritis, with his specific training and skill sets, provided the necessary support for the development of this project. The company created a trademarked finish that was also certified by the Food & Drug Administration for the regulation of contact with food.
This certification has permitted Lavela the exportation of its products overseas, particularly into the American market. Obtaining the trade mark and NSF 51 certification has been pivotal for further developments within Lavela. It has additionally provided the foundational principles in the setting up of its new organization and management under the leadership of Piero Margheritis.
